On a short trip to Pennsylvania, I was able to briefly explore Pittsburgh, the "Iron City", for a few days.
From the first step downtown, you could feel the industrial spirit of the city. A history forged from iron and steel.
Countless steel bridges, landmarks and charming buildings underline the charm of steel and coal - and at the same time, the city is undergoing an incredible transformation into a center for technology, culture and art. Street life, baseball and American football also play an extremely important role in people's identification with their city.
It was definitely a highlight to drive across the Monongahela River to South Side and see the illuminated skyline at night.
Here are a few photos that prove that Pittsburgh is more than just steel and coal.

The highlights are great.

But if you want to dive deeper, then this here is just perfect for you.
